An easy and quick read. But very predictable. It wasn't a terrible book, but I wouldn't recommend it.

I expected a little bit more from this bool, especially from Lauren's investigation into her mother's murder and the possible wrongful conviction of her father.

Also, the intertwining storylines sort of gave away the ending for me. And on that, I found that the ending was too quick and clean. Not that I was looking for an unhappy or messy ending, I just don't think that everything needs to be tied up in a neat little bow.

If anyone had read any of Tatiana de Rosnay's books, then this is the book to read. A father in prison for a murder he says he didn't do, a son who believe him and a daughter who hate him. Their mother was killed while the kids were playing in the treehouse. The police arrested the only suspect in the case, their father who protested his innocence. Twenty four years later, the son follows up on the only clue, a jade earring found at the scene of the crime. His sister Lauren, was haunted by her mother's death and refused to have anything to do with her father. A fascinating read. Love this book and I couldn't put it down.
