Robert Clark's character development is deep and compelling. I agree with what the Literary Critic observed: the characters are forced to "reexamine their own moral codes" , "honestly and painfully". "Emotional resilience" meets head on with "faltering faith" in a way too rarely written . I wanted the characters to live well despite, or because of their choices. It is a satisfying read.
