On the night of the new moon, the demons rise in force, seeking the deaths of two men, both of whom have the potential to become the fabled Deliverer, the man prophesied to reunite the scattered remnants of humanity in a final push to destroy the demon corelings once and for all. Arlen Bales denies he is the Deliverer at every turn, but the more he tries to be one with the common folk, the more fervently they believe.

I'll be honest, I skipped through about a third of this book because going through ANOTHER origin story was taking up too much of my time. The action scenes are AMAZING though,

Excellent read. Again the author ratchets up the action beyond the previous book, and again he does not over extend himself. He explores characters we've only seen from the outside before and we see the world through their eyes. Characters we already know continue to grow and change. We have more flashbacks, it can be confusing to keep track of when we are in the story but he provides dates so you can puzzle it out. This one seems slower than the previous two but still excellent. And I still finished it quickly and stayed up late reading it.I'm looking forward to his next installment.
