Two albums out and a nice selections of videos out there. No reason not to explore this sisters act and find the tracks you enjoy the most. I recommend starting with "If I could Change Your Mind" from this album and "Little of Your Love" from Something to Tell You Album. Find their music on Freegal.

"Days Are Gone is full of should-be hits like "The Wire," which boasts a big, fist-pumping beat and sassy guitar licks (they can only be called that). Compared to the thin voices of so many 2010s pop stars, singer Danielle Haim's rich alto only adds to the group's throwback feel, but like her sisters, she's remarkably versatile. Over the course of the album, Haim captures and explores the nuances within the styles they're reviving: there's the sweet soft rock of "Honey & I" or "Don't Save Me," the title track's tight synth-pop, and the dark, driving territory of "Let Me Go" and "My Song 5," which, with its slinky melody and hard-hitting beats, makes the most of the trio's much-touted R&B influences. This song, along with much of Days Are Gone, features production by Ariel Rechtshaid, whose work with Usher and Vampire Weekend proves he has the breadth to help Haim unite their ideas into a coherent sound." I was a little late to the game with HAIM, but it's OK because it makes a great summer album regardless of release date. After a few listens you will be humming your favorite choruses and maybe playing air keyboard..

One of last year's biggest musical success stories was these three sisters from California. I don't begrudge them all the hype and buzz (I'm not a hater or a troll or, worse, a troll hater), but maybe I'm showing my age by saying that I don't really see what all the fuss is about. The music is bright and catchy and this is a fine modern pop record even as it reaches back to the 80s for inspiration. They are often compared to the Laurel Canyon scene and Fleetwood Mac, but it's the Fleetwood Mac of "Tango in the Night" rather than "Rumors" or "Tusk." And I can't be the only one who hears some Wilson Phillips and Bangles in their music. Produced by Ariel Rechtshaid, who also did Vampire Weekend's excellent "Modern Vampires of the City." Who is your favorite Haim? Mine is Bassface.

Haim are three twentysomething sisters (and an unrelated drummer) from Los Angeles who grew up playing in a band with their mom and dad. And if that isn't cute enough for you, their charming debut recalls the dancy side of Eighties Top 40 radio as an AstroTurf Eden of chewy synths, neon-cheese guitar quake and slick, airy melodies. Its single "Falling" could roll proud alongside "Bette Davis Eyes" and "Don't You Want Me" at Skateville in 1983. But this isn't just mimicry; sweet, smart homemade invention abounds, from the wistful R&B anthem "Days Are Gone" to "The Wire," a New Wave/country-pop stomper with aching sass. This is the kind of microtriumph you sit up and root for.
