Highly entertaining! A very creative way of combining characters from Shakespeare's Othello and Merchant of Venice. Very funny dialogue and creative use of language - the narrator brilliantly voices all the characters in distinctive ways - easy to follow which character is speaking. if you're offended by the use of the F-word, don't borrow this CD but it is used in context with the situation and quite hilarious. I really enjoyed this CD and would recommend.

In a lifetime of really awful decisions reading this novel was one of the best moves I've ever made. I would say the funniest book I have read bar none. Making fun of Star Wars and every other American movie with a "foreigner", all the Venetian, Genoan, French and African characters spoke with English accents and used British colloquialisms. Some of my favorite sentences ever written can be found in this novel and I will definitely be reading this again just to catch any subtleties I may have missed. One such sentence occurred when our French hero found himself chained in a brick room and left for dead and pronounced himself in a "spot of bother." I've been trying to use this phrase in conversation daily to myself if of no one else. There was the French giant dressed as a lady when a Venetian stated, "I'd 'ave a go at her wouldn't I?" The other sentences I cannot put in here lest I be censored by the puritanical elite at Amazon.

Christopher Moore does it again. Funny, charming and a little tiny bit accurate - my drives to work these last few weeks have been extremely enjoyable while listening to this book.

Another delightfully hilarious tale from Christopher Moore. The audiobook has the same narrator as "Fool", Euan Morton, who brings each of the characters to life.
