"When U.S. troops withdrew from Afghanistan at the end of 2014, it signaled the end of the longest conflict in the nation's history. Yet we are still at war--no longer with other states, but with a host of new enemies, from nihilistic terrorists and narco-traffickers to transnational criminal cartels, lone wolf assassins, and modern-day pirates. Standing against these foes is a tight-knit fraternity of soldiers, cops, lawyers, and spies. Together, these men have broken down the cultural and institutional boundaries among their respective agencies to engineer a new, network-centric way of fighting: one that uses a seamless web of intelligence analysts, high-tech information networks, and Special Forces units to take the fight to America's enemies as never before. These disciplined, patriotic servicemen form a band of brothers that, over the past half century, has fundamentally reshaped the way America defends itself."--Provided by publisher.

I've never been a Senior Fellow anywhere, at any time, or any place, but maybe all these so-called Senior Fellows at these random stink tanks can explain to me why American administrations, from Jimmy Carter to Barack Obama and including all those in between, keep supporting jihadis and Islamic extremists? Recalling the annoyingly braggert manner Zbignew Brzezinski recounted [in 1996] how a presidential directive from President Carter began fomenting disrest and violence on the northern border of Afghanistan - - separating it from the old Soviet Union - - because they wanted to destabilize a secular country, and then Carter/Reagan funded the mujahideen, which meant they financed the murders of secularists in that country [teachers, academics, artists, professionals, et cetera]? Why the Clintons established an Extraordinary Rendition Program, which kidnapped pro-democracy Muslim activists back to Libya and Egypt for torture, dismemberment and death? Why Bush #1 allowed slant drilling into Iraqi oil fields, from an oil company in Kuwait, whose board members included Richard Armitage and James Baker? Why Bush #2 invaded Iraq? Why President Obama's administration recently spent $500 million to train nonexistent Syrian rebels [they ended up joining up with either ISIS, or al Qaeda in Syria [al Nusra], or disappeared, with those weapons going to those two groups also?
These Senior Fellows keep citing stuff they claim to be // successes \\ which to us neutral observers looks like failure after failure?!
[And what's become of those thousands of missing rifles, badges and green cards from the DHS, according to the last several IG reports?]
