It is a dark psychological thriller about a fierce showdown between two couples during the course of an ornately prepared meal at a fancy restaurant. When Stan Lohman, a popular congressman running for governor, invites his troubled younger brother Paul and his wife Claire to join him and his wife Katelyn for dinner at one of the town's most fashionable restaurants, the stage is set for a tense night.

Add a CommentLoved the book by Hermen Koch, thought the movie was a disappointment. Steve Coonagh really annoyed me. Felt it did not accurately stay true to book
Even Richard Gere couldn't save it.
An excuse for the producer, director and the actors to wallow in the hate they still labor under for their parents. Don't bother hanging on for the ending--there isn't one.
Absolute garbage...dragged on for 2 hours what could've been done in 10 minutes...bad acting and poor story!!
If you've got a free 2 hours, go eat wasps. It would be a lot less painful than this movie.
Awful movie. Might be on the of the most disjointed movies I have ever seen. Not worth the gas to pick it up.
This movie was the biggest waste of time ever. Put it this way---I don't even think this would qualify for Rotten Tomatoes, it was so bad. And the ending? I wanted to hunt down the director and slap his face for robbing me of two hours of my life! Do not waste your time on this.
I was truly surprised at how bad this movie was. I had previously read the book, which I thought was pretty good. It was a long two hours to sit through.
tried 3 times to get into it...could be the most boring movie ( I say could be as I was unable to get past 30 minutes) of the year.
The preview looked good. Could not watch more then five minutes. Terrible.
So glad I didn't have to pay for it. Would not rcommend and I enjoy watching Laura Linney and Richard Gere movies.
This movie is hardly like the book. The book is very superior, and the movie introduced too many unnecessary elements with little effort made to tie them all together.
Great book to read, though.
