Outstanding in every way! Easily the best of a venerated series. Enjoy!
The most frightening of this series since the first Alien. It appears to be a blend of the Alien franchise and Prometheus, but all I remember from Prometheus is being fascinated with Noomi Rapace's face and accent. Fassbender was amazing: between the subtle change in makeup and his apparent ability to mold his face at will, there were times I wondered if he used a double. I have not been a fan of his earlier work. Some very interesting changes. This installment choose to drop the "helpless pet" (cat, little girl, dog, android) to be protected and to leave out Weaver. The alien creature is very inconsistent, and no one bothers to explain the changes or even comment on them. If so many people weren't waiting for this copy, I'd watch it again. There are some interesting goofs I'd like to recheck. The action is pretty quick, so I'd like to have a chance to see some of it again. I caught the mixed-race couples, the gay couple, and I am wondering what I missed. Also the off-hand comment about "second generation embryos" (what?) I'd like to see if there is more information about that that I missed.
This movie is the newest movie in the Alien series and was produced in 2017. It follows a colony ship called covenant to a remote planet that seems like paradise. They encounter the Alien and have to fight for survival. This movie would be a great movie if not for one fatal flaw, the CGI. Even watching the trailers that showed the alien, I knew that this movie was going to be hard to watch because of the terrible CGI. The alien looked incredibly fake and because of this the movie was not scary at all and was barely even thrilling. If you are a fan of the series then this movie might be ok for you, if you can focus on anything but the CGI. If bad CGI is something that bugs you as much as it does me then this movie is not watchable. 2/5 Stars.

I guess I miss Signourny Weaver.
Yet another addition to the franchise, with bigger budget, more gut and gore, mediocre acting, & even worse screen-writing. Remind me how great the original ones (Alien, Aliens) were..... They just don't make them like they used to these days. Skip it.
Watch Prometheus again and then watch this movie. Have fun.
First-rate production design. It's gorgeous and the music is haunting and creepy. However, the story is week and predictable but, at least, it's more coherent than Prometheus. Not many surprises or shocks here.
While it gave me some answers that I've wanted for awhile, it was very predictable and weighted down by common plot armor. This could have been a very story driven story but was given instead to a bloody disgusting genre.
Okay. Let me see if I've got this. You put a 100 billion dollar plus spaceship together and you crew it with lame-o extras from central casting, and write up a script that makes B level comic books look literary. And, oh, nearly forgot, you land on an alien planet and take zero, like really zero, biological protection protocols. Duh.
I love sci-fi. Expected more but the movie failed to deliver. A bit disappointed, but it's still a good movie.
