If you read this book, you should know that you will have to read the next book or maybe more of his books. This book does not come to an end.

Great concept, but while large parts of this book kept me happily turning the pages, I was surprised and disappointed at the (lengthy) pauses for lectures and the poorly handled ending. Didn't seem up to Koontz's usual standards to me.

Interesting read, however for me it came two months after reading The Chemist. Very similar stories. Both engaging, both well written. Haven't decided if I'll read the next one.

The first book in the Jane Hawk series is a conspiracy theory thrill ride. I couldn't put it down!

Fast paced, chilling thriller, edge of your seat read. Crappy ending.

The story in Koontz's latest is excellent: the conflict is massive and terrifying in its implications, the characters are believable and compelling, the action is satisfying and well-paced. But his writing style nowadays is notably different than his classic works: wordier, more ostentatious. It might not be to taste for fans of his older books.

I wasn't aware that this was a serial and that there would not be an end to the storyline. I don't mind books that continue a character's adventures book to book but ending without any conclusion the the current story. Ugh.

Dean Koontz introduces us to Jane Hawk, a tough a nails, don't mess with my boy, FBI agent! The Silent Corner is a page-turner and I am anxiously awaiting The Whispering Room!

How disappointing ! Although the premise of this book is intriguing and frightening; like all of Koontz's best works there is always that underlying feeling of "that could never happen ... or could it ?" , and Jane Hawk is a likeable character, this book felt to me like a female Jack Reacher. I will probably read the next book in the series, because I generally love Koontz's writing, but I certainly won't be desperately waiting for it to be published. I wish he would go back to his "old" style.

Children were the world as it was meant to be, and they were the light within the world. But for every light, there seemed to be someone bent on extinguishing it.
