When Katie Davis Majors moved to Uganda, accidentally founded a booming organization, and later became the mother of thirteen girls through the miracle of adoption, she determined to weave her life together with the people she desired to serve. But joy often gave way to sorrow as she invested her heart fully in walking alongside people in the grip of poverty, addiction, desperation, and disease. After unexpected tragedy shook her family, for the first time Katie began to wonder, Is God really good? Does He really love us? When she turned to Him with her questions, God spoke truth to her heart and drew her even deeper into relationship with Him. Daring to Hope is an invitation to cling to the God of the impossible--the God who whispers His love to us in the quiet, in the mundane, when our prayers are not answered the way we want or the miracle doesn't come. It's about a mother discovering the extraordinary strength it takes to be ordinary. It's about choosing faith no matter the circumstance and about encountering God's goodness in the least expected places.

This has a different feel than her previous book but still inspirational and thought-provoking.

I read Kisses From Katie last year and really enjoyed it, so when I saw she had written a new book I was super pumped to get in on the action!

Daring to Hope is a phenomenal, touching book that shows so much of Katie’s heart and her love for God and the people of Uganda. It really put things back in perspective for me and reminded me of God’s power and, truly, goodness amidst the challenges and heartbreak of life.

A book that will stay with me for a long time to come.

I received a free copy of the book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

A missionary and adoptive mother to 13 girls, Katie Davis Majors has some stories to tell. This encouraging offering follows up her first book, "Kisses from Katie," with tales that will break and bless the heart of those who read them. Warm, earnest prose transforms the harsh realities of Majors' life, bathing them in the light of grace and faith. Majors writes about God with disarming honesty and unbridled affection, and the stories she shares are riveting. Some stories will be far outside the typical Western cultural experience (many involve and up-close-and-personal encounters with death and extreme poverty), yet many are day-to-day challenges (like dealing with angry children, feeling frazzled in the middle of a stressful day, or stepping in something gross during a morning run). This book is well worth the read for anyone who is walking through a difficult season of life and wondering where hope can be found; according to Majors, it's right in the midst of the pain, if you know where to direct your gaze.
