If you are a student of how the mind works, with those papers on your wall or not, you will find this interesting. With the acting more than sufficient, the plot more than works for the purpose. It's intelligent Sci-fi with an important message. I'm not saying "Rememory" is just for eggheads, but I will include the following notes for those who might find them helpful before or after viewing the movie: Memory, when suppressed, is facilitated unconsciously but for an purpose usually required in that moment for that individual. How long a memory is supressed is determined by factors that usually have to do with the long-term growth of that individual. Most everyone has some suppressed memories, the number or degree of trauma associated with which widely varies, as does the results, the worst of which likely occurring among those we more commonly consider insane. But not necessarily(!).
=== In any case,
1) Messing with someone else's process of learning... well, that will earn you some "extra learning" (which in some circles is more formally called "Karma"). The "messing with" note does not refer to therapeutic engagement of all that.
2) Creating a movie around that kind of learning is (In my opinion) really pushing the learning curve of most movie viewers (as opposed to those who only read books, should they actually exist somewhere nowadays ;-)) [Refs4Src: "Fascia Memory Theory" and "Body-Mind Integration in the Personal Growth Process"]

I think Rememory fails as science fiction. The science fiction premise is not terrible, but it feels far fetched the way it is done. The main actors are fine. The story was not compelling and did not pull me in. Perhaps it was supposed to be a mystery, perhaps a character study. But I never felt like Peter Dinklage's character had a real life reason for being involved in the whole mess.

My expectations were pretty low, and there ARE huge holes in the plot (how many are truly watertight?), but despite these, this moody flick kept my attention. There's a twist at the end, and a bit of schmaltz, but overall, I had the feeling of time well-wasted. Dinklage is allowed some depth, and Julia Ormond (so lovely in Smilla's Sense of Snow) does not disappoint. The tag line reads "We are nothing more than the memories we keep" and this driving theme is the heart of the antagonist's dilemma. What happens when we try to purge or suppress things we'd rather not remember and face?

If I could give this movie negative five stars I would. It was trying too hard to be artsy and avant garde. It failed miserably. Some movies are so bad they are at least funny. This movie was so bad it was, well, bad. Avoid!!!

Ooof! Did anyone read this script before they signed on to make this movie? The plot holes are grand canyon sized. The actors seemed game, but lost at sea. I suspect contractual obligations were their only anchors. When I see high caliber artists making so many strange choices I blame the director and feel sorry for the actors. Skip this one. Nuthin' to see here folks, not even half a star, move along move along.

This was a pleasant surprise. I snagged this title because of Peter Dinklage and his performance does not disappoint. But, I was also rewarded with a pretty decent plot and a lovely performance from Julia Ormond. Overall a good mix of drama and light sci-fi on fictions and realities of memory and remembering.

I haven't really enjoyed PD in anything besides Game Of Thrones because, I think, he's mainly cast as an afterthought due his recent success but he was good. This sci-fi flick is very remeniscent of The Outer Limits (the good 1990s version, not the crappy old b/w). It has a few twists and turns to keep you guessing

Peter Dinklage is an actor of such integrity and commitment he can make any plot seem plausible and is always worth watching.

Really intelligent and engaging. Never heard of this film but was pleasantly surprised!

The story has several holes but the biggest problem is the main actor, Peter Dinklage. I got so tired of seeing him trying to act. The film tries to be meaningful but I was bored.
