I really enjoyed how this was portrayed as a podcast and found that format enjoyable. I am not sure that is how the book is. The subject matter is quite dark.

One of the reasons I was drawn to this book was because of the podcast tie-in. The podcast chapters are truly remarkable in the audio format. This aspect could come off as gimmicky, but instead serves as an excellent mechanism that propels the plot forward while layering the drama and suspense. A full cast of voices adds depth to the characters and the stories they tell. The production of the audio effects feels like you’re listening to a real podcast.

Embedded within Sadie is a thorough meditation on violence against women, its causes and consequences, and what it takes to stop the cycle of assault when many women and girls do not even have a voice, or a choice.

The audiobook of this title is dynamic as it features a full cast. Finished this book quickly because I needed to know what happened to the missing girls!

How far would you go to get justice for someone you love? Sadie will push herself to the limit and then beyond, traveling hundreds of miles, risking injury, and putting herself directly in harm's way - all for her little sister.

This is definitely for fans of true crime podcasts. I LOVED that it was recorded with a full cast - but it made me wonder what the experience would be if I had just read this instead of listening to the audio. One of the best parts of this book was that the "episodes" alternated with Sadie's 1st person narration. This added a depth and level of catharsis that never quite comes from a true crime podcast.
