I wasn't sure what to expect when I saw the nasty pie on the front cover. I was worried this would be a negative book. But the dad in this book is much too smart to fall into that trap. He tells his son he will make enemy pie to get rid of his enemy, but first the boy must go spend one whole day with his "enemy." The boy does, but it turns out to be one of the best days. His enemy is no longer his enemy. Dad feeds them dinner including the pie he made which looks like a simple cherry pie. This book is a subtle lesson about befriending new people and getting to really know them before judging them. Go Dad! The illustrations are a bit unusual (big heads with wide apart eyes), but very colorful and fun. I would recommend this book for all ages.
