Some like to solve puzzles but I like to use my investigative powers on solving crime mysteries. Jo Nesbo, the Norwegian crime writer, creates a pyschologically mesmerizing world in his novel, The Devil's Star. From one moment to the next, you never know where Homicide Inspector Harry Hole of Oslo will lead you, or himself, for that matter. If you are afraid of the dark, better not pick up this story. But if you are addicted to suspense, along with unerringly fine writing, you will be enthralled with this noir tale. Mary Hamm Barrett Interlibrary Loan Downtown Central Library
