Jenna Stevens is a sous-chef trying to rebuild her self-esteem after her divorce. She moves back to her home town and decides to open a cooking store even though she has no experience in retail. She hires Violet who is great at retail and they work together to get the store, Grate Expectations up and running. Jenna’s Mom, Beth is very supportive and always helping out where she can. Suddenly out of the blue, Serenity and Tom, Jenna’s birth parents show up and want a relationship with her. Jenna knows she is adopted but was very happy with her life and never looked for her birth parents. This is a huge shock – them showing up at the store. Violet and Jenna become close friends and it is a good thing because they need each other’s support overcoming man problems in their lives.
