Beautifully done series (production values, acting, direction). Shaun Evans superbly handles the daunting task of being the younger version of the much loved John Thaw character Inspector Morse. The pilot episode was especially engrossing. They capture the period of the early '60s so well. If I (and some professional reviewers) have a quibble, it's the ludicrousness of some of the plots. Episode Three, Fugue, is particularly over the top. But it's still unmissable viewing.
