Faceless Killers

[a Kurt Wallander Mystery]

Mankell is a very spare writer. This first in the Kurt Wallander series reads like a slightly fleshed out chronology of events interspersed with horrible weather and a grim personal life. I did enjoy the book and the trying to follow the clues. Throughout I had to wear a sweater as the description of the sleet, freezing rain and the driving wind was just too real. I found the bits of comment on Swedish society interesting. Quick easy read with a puzzle for solving and some characters you might want to get to know better.
