Let's face it - Big Eyes was a perfect example of a movie that was a bad idea to begin with. I mean, the whole story between Margaret and Walter Keane was not all that intriguing, anyway. Like, don't artists take credit for another's work all the time? So, what makes this particular case so special? I honestly don't think that Margaret Keane was a very good artist to begin with. All she did was paint "Big Eyes" pictures and nothing else of any significance. And, finally - I thought that the leads in this film both gave terrible performances (seeming to come from opposite ends of the spectrum). To me, Amy Adams was a completely blank slate - dull, quiet, lacking range. And, then there was Christoph Waltz - A live-action Looney Tune - goofy, campy, and over-the-top. No. Neither performance was any good.
