I'm surprised to see so many negative comments! It's a Patterson book, so, yes, it is written in short chapters and simple language. But in the age of truth and reconciliation the theme is timely and deserves to be explored more. Gives us a chance to stand in the shoes of a whole civilization decimated by war and shuffled off to reserves and sub-human living conditions. (oh, and subsequently blamed and shamed for living in sub-human conditions.) I really liked the main characters and the dark and dirty setting. I'd give this title to any young adult, and to any grown-up looking for an easy fast read.
