I eagerly awaited this book as I'd read all the previous "alphabet" ones and enjoyed them all but unfortunately after two days found myself flipping through the pages and then just gave up completely. I didn't enjoy reading about the early part with the rebellious out of control teenagers and their drinking, drugs, sex, swearing and shallow and ruthless treatment of others. And the 1989 part with its unsavory characters didn't add to the story and adding in the continuing saga with Ned, the sociopath, seemed just like so much added filler. I think maybe it's a good thing there is only one letter of the alphabet left and can only hope Sue Grafton can end the series on a more positive note. I would only give this book one half a star.
