There was a lot going on in this book, but for a teen realistic fiction story, I felt that the author handled the issues and balanced everything very well. Joss is not the most likable character, but I loved that the author really dug deep into her dyslexia and child abuse. I know little to nothing about being a child actor, but if I had to guess, I could definitely see this scenario as being believable--this book is also, unfortunately, becoming very timely in our society today.
