The Love Interest is amazing! It was so good it took me out of my reading slump and got me back into reading. The plot is incredibly imaginative and creative, although it is slightly underdeveloped. I love books about spies and this story had a fresh take on that genre. Even though the book had some darker content, such as abuse, slavery, and murder, the book was fairly light and fluffy, making it an easy read. It was pretty fast-paced, not spending too much time on setting description, which was mostly good, however frustrating at times that I would have appreciated more details about where the characters were. The ending did feel a bit rushed, however the excellence of the rest of the story made up for it. I really loved the cast of characters. They were all captivating and lovable, and I felt like I really knew them. Overall, I adored this book and would recommend it to everyone. 4.5/5 @nickreads of the Teen Review Board of the Hamilton Public Library Overall, I thought the book had a good plot behind it and ideas, with romance and action/suspense. However, I felt that the writer could have delivered it in a better manner or style. An organization works to send in "spies" amongst the midst of potentially powerful people, to further use secrets for financial gain. In this cruel society two boys must both try and win the heart of a young girl, and the loser will be exterminated. I liked the idea of the book when picking it up, but after reading it I found it to be the work of a "inexperienced" author. Good morals/lessons though! 4/5 Stars @Siri of The Hamilton Public Library's Teen Review Board
