I liked CARIBBEAN RIM. A few more leaps of faith (pun intended in this one) in this one than in most Doc Ford books. Like pop-up, shadowy help that Ford was getting from governments and even some bad guys. On the other hand, the story line was interesting and different from the usual fare. There are some strange characters involved, but given Tomlinson's own brand of strange, nothing way too far out there - but there are a lot of them. As usual, you have to catch the shifting cadence when the book is focused on Ford (straightforward, mission driven, and sort of normal) and then turns to focusing on Tomlinson (wandering mind, strung out dialogue, and incredible, funny insights at times). Worth the read.
