Lara Jean and Peter are still together as they start their last year of high school. They dream of going to UVA together. There’s a lot going on in their senior year, with seemingly endless graduation celebrations. The plot hinges on whether or not they will stay together in college. For people who liked the other two books in the series, it’s nice to see the continuation of their relationship. There are some weird plot points that I found annoying. Lara Jean lets Peter purposely exclude Josh from her father’s life, even though Josh had been very close to their entire family. Margot has pretty much no redeemable traits in this book, unlike the other two where she seemed to at least like her family. Peter’s absent father is introduced for no real reason. The most frustrating part of the book is how easily swayed Lara Jean is by those around her, but that’s very true to how high school is. Supposedly this is the last book about Lara Jean, and it is a good sendoff for her. A part of me hopes we see a book about Kitty someday. She seems like the most interesting and entertaining character in all three of the books!
