My father used to label these superfluous efforts as "chewing gum for the brain." Many of the critical comments below are bang on. But for a limp and a few bruises the lost trio looked well fed and groomed. The director (Hany Abu-Assad) seems to be more in his element with Palestinian freedom fighter and other assorted movies about terrorism. The Strathcona library still retains a copy of The Snow Walker which is similar in many ways to The Mountain Between Us though twice as realistic and intelligent. In signing off, one thing I will say is that Kate Winslet is still as beautiful as she was in Titanic so this reviewer allows one star for that!
