I loved this book! I love the southern charm and quirks found in Ms. Brown's books. Her characters in this story ranged from those about to get married and start the next part of their lives, to the great grandmother of the heroine and several gentlemen the same age. There were really old prejudices and hurts that needed to be resolved and parts of the older generations stories that needed to be brought to light. Emmy Jo goes about doing that when she goes to work as a health aide and assistant to one of her great-grandmother's old beau's and she starts to wonder about who her great-grandfather really is. Emmy Jo's romantic life with her fiance, Logan, takes somewhat of a backseat to the story of the past, so if you're looking for lots of romance and action this book may not be for you. This was a sweet story and I think the narration by Brittany Pressley of the audio book added immensely to overall experience.
